Favourite travel destinations and/or best adventures

I have been fortunate and worked hard enough to be able to travel to 27 different countries across 6 continents so far (I include Wales and Scotland in that list!). To date, however, my favourite experience was travelling alone to Australia as a socially awkward, introverted 18-year-old. I had no idea what I was doing as had booked the flights and nothing else. I arrived and snuck onto the bus of a group of gap year students and found a hostel with a bottle-o (off license) underneath so bought a box of beer, returned to the common area of the hostel, put the beers on a table and announced: “Hi, my name’s James – does anyone fancy a beer?” I am still in contact with friends today that I met that evening over 20 years ago.

What are you hoping to achieve/improve/learn while working for Dial A Geek?

Having spent my recent years working in IT Service Management, I am excited to return to being a full-on techie with like-minded people. Having implemented Asset & Configuration Management processes within a huge  global organisation, I hope to bring some of that experience to Dial A Geek and further enhance the amazing services they provide to their customers. With a constant thirst for knowledge, I’m keen to learn from my fellow geeks and develop new skills especially in the Cyber Security space.

Would you like to know anything more about James? Tweet at us (@dialageek) and we may reply (we reserve the right not to, if the questions are too weird/not weird enough).’
